mozey is an AI-powered accounting platform built for freelancers. It combines receipt scanning, invoice management, contract handling, and tax preparation tools to help you spend less time on admin and more time growing your business.
Yes! Start with our Starter plan (free forever) to scan receipts and create basic invoices. The Pro plan ($19/month) and Business plan ($29/month) unlock unlimited invoices, AI contract generation, and tax reports.
Absolutely. We use bank-level encryption — TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest. Row-level security ensures only you can access your data. We never sell or share your information. Your financial data is safer with us than in your desk drawer.

We work with everything — images, PDFs, email receipts, invoices, and more. Our AI can extract data from nearly any format. For exports, we deliver CSV and JSON that work seamlessly with QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, and other accounting software.
Invoicing & Payments
In mozey, go to Invoices → Create New Invoice. Fill in your client details, add line items with descriptions and rates, set payment terms, and send. Invoices are automatically branded with your company details and customizable logo.
You can display any payment method on your invoices: Stripe, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, Wire transfer, CashApp, Wise, Bank transfer, or Check. Clients see all your accepted payment methods on every invoice so they know exactly how to pay you.
No, mozey doesn't process payments directly. Instead, we display your payment methods on every invoice so clients know how to pay you through your preferred channels. You keep 100% of payments with no processing fees through mozey.
You can set automatic payment reminders to send after an invoice is unpaid for 7, 14, or 30 days. Reminders can be customized with your messaging and are sent directly to your client.
Once a client pays you, mark the invoice as paid in mozey. Record the payment method, date, and any notes. This updates your cash flow reports, marks the invoice as complete, and removes it from your unpaid invoices list.
mozey generates a unique, secure link for each invoice you share. Clients can view the invoice without creating an account. The link is time-limited and can be revoked anytime from your dashboard.
Quotes & Contracts
Go to Quotes → Create New Quote. Add your client info, line items with pricing, and a quote expiration date. Quotes look professional and can be sent directly from mozey or downloaded as PDF.
Yes! Once a client approves a quote, simply click "Convert to Invoice" and it becomes a ready-to-send invoice with the same line items and pricing. This saves you time and ensures consistency.
mozey tracks quote status automatically: sent, viewed by client, approved, rejected, or expired. You can see exactly when your client viewed the quote and whether they've accepted or rejected it.
Describe your project scope in plain English, and mozey's AI (powered by Anthropic Claude) generates a professional contract draft. It includes payment terms, scope of work, timelines, and IP rights. You can edit and customize before sending.
After you've agreed on contract terms, send the contract for e-signature. Your client receives a secure link to review and sign digitally. Once signed, both parties get a timestamped, cryptographically verified copy automatically saved in mozey.
Yes, e-signatures collected through mozey are legally binding. They include cryptographic verification, signer IP address, timestamp, and are compliant with ESIGN and eIDAS regulations.
Contracts and signatures use AES-256 encryption, cryptographic hash verification, and secure token-based sharing. Only the intended parties can access contracts, and all signature data is securely stored with audit trails.
Tax & Reports
mozey tracks both federal and state tax obligations for freelancers. We calculate estimated quarterly taxes based on your year-to-date income and known deductions. The system is location-aware — just set your state and we handle the rest.
Schedule C is the IRS form used by sole proprietors and freelancers to report business profit or loss. mozey can generate a pre-filled Schedule C summary grouped by expense category, making tax prep much faster and easier.
Yes! You can export your data as CSV or PDF and share it with your accountant. We're also building a direct accountant collaboration feature where your CPA can access read-only reports — coming soon!
mozey calculates quarterly estimates based on your net profit divided by 4. We account for federal self-employment tax, income tax brackets, and state tax requirements. You can adjust estimates manually if you expect significant income changes.
Pricing & Plans
We offer three plans: Starter (Free forever), Pro ($19/month), and Business ($29/month). Starter includes basic receipts and invoices. Pro adds unlimited invoices, AI contracts, and tax reports. Business adds white-label options and team collaboration.
Starter: 10 receipts/month, basic invoicing. Pro: Unlimited receipts & invoices, AI contract generation, e-signature, tax reports, and payment tracking. Business: Everything in Pro, plus white-label invoices, team members, and priority support.
Yes! We occasionally offer promotional coupon codes. Check our pricing page or subscribe to our newsletter for the latest offers.
We don't currently have a dedicated student or nonprofit plan, but our Starter plan is always free. If you have specific needs, reach out to hello@mozey.co — we're happy to discuss options.
Billing & Subscription
You can change your plan anytime from Settings → Subscription → Change Plan. Upgrades take effect immediately, and downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
Yes, you can pause your subscription for up to 3 months. During the pause, you won't be billed and your data is preserved. You can resume anytime from Settings → Subscription.
You can cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription → Change or Cancel Plan. Upon cancellation, you keep your Pro features until the end of your current billing cycle. Your data is always yours to export.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Stripe, and Apple In-App Purchases on iOS.
Refund Policy
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first paid purchase. If you're not satisfied within 14 days of your initial payment, contact us for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are not available for standard cancellations.
Email hello@mozey.co with your account email, the transaction date, and your reason for requesting a refund. We'll review your request within 2 business days.
If you're charged twice for the same transaction, we'll issue a full refund for the duplicate immediately. Contact hello@mozey.co with details of the duplicate charge.
Features & AI
Our AI reads your receipt using OCR, then automatically assigns a business expense category (e.g., Office Supplies, Travel, Meals, Software). It learns common vendors and patterns to improve accuracy over time. You can always edit the category if needed.
No. Your receipt images and contract data are never used to train AI models. We use Anthropic Claude for processing, and your data is only used to provide the Service. It's never shared for training or other purposes.
Yes! mozey works great in your mobile browser. We're building dedicated iOS and Android apps with features like instant camera scanning, offline access, and real-time sync — coming soon.
Legal & Compliance
No. mozey is a freelancer accounting automation tool — not a CPA, tax advisor, or legal firm. We do not file taxes, provide tax advice, or act as your accountant. Our platform automates bookkeeping tasks like receipt scanning, expense categorization, invoicing, and report generation. For tax filing, IRS compliance questions, or financial advice, always consult a licensed CPA or tax professional.
AI-generated contracts through mozey are templates and starting points only. They are not reviewed by an attorney and should not be treated as legal advice. We strongly recommend having a qualified attorney review any AI-generated contract before signing or sending it to clients. mozey is not responsible for legal disputes arising from AI-generated contract content.
Only business-related expenses are eligible for IRS Schedule C tax deductions. Personal expenses — even if scanned and categorized by mozey — are not deductible. When scanning receipts, always verify that the expense is ordinary and necessary for your business. mozey's AI categorization is a suggestion to help organize your records, not a guarantee of deductibility. Consult your CPA for final determination.
mozey's AI provides suggested categories based on receipt data, but these are estimates — not guaranteed classifications. Each AI-scanned receipt includes a confidence score to help you identify items that may need manual review. You are ultimately responsible for verifying that all expense categories and amounts are correct before using them for tax purposes.
No. Tax estimates shown on your dashboard (including estimated quarterly taxes) are rough projections based on the data you've entered. They are not official tax calculations and should not be used as your sole basis for IRS payments. Always work with a licensed CPA or tax preparer for actual tax filing and payment decisions.
